For the World Cup celebrations in Vancouver, the biggest event is actually not downtown—it’s the official FIFA Fan Festival™ Vancouver at the PNE grounds in Hastings Park. It runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026 and is the city’s main gathering place for World Cup fans.

While the official FIFA Fan Festival is at the PNE, there are several FIFA-related activities planned in downtown Vancouver beyond just the matches.
1. Granville Street Pedestrian Zone (the biggest downtown activation)
From June 11 to July 20, Granville Street between Georgia and Davie will be closed to vehicle traffic and transformed into a pedestrian festival area. Plans include:
- Expanded patios
- Live music
- Cultural programming
- Food vendors
- Public art
- Selfie/photo installations
- Street entertainment and activations
This is intended to be the main downtown gathering space during the tournament.
2. Robson Square Activations
The city has already begun decorating and activating Robson Square as a FIFA-themed gathering area. While detailed programming is still being released, Robson Square is expected to host soccer-themed activities, fan engagement events, and public celebrations.
3. Granville Island Watch Party
Granville Island is hosting World Cup watch parties throughout the tournament period, giving you a more relaxed waterfront alternative to the PNE crowds.
4. Bentall Centre “Pitchside Patio”
Downtown’s Bentall Centre is hosting a FIFA-themed patio and viewing area during much of the tournament.
5. Stadium District Celebrations
The area around BC Place, Terry Fox Plaza, Yaletown, and False Creek will effectively become a giant celebration zone on match days. The Host Committee expects over 350,000 visitors across Vancouver’s seven match days. Restaurants, pubs, and public spaces around the stadium are expected to have viewing events and fan programming.
6. Science World Exhibition
Science World is hosting a special exhibition:
- “Soccer & Technology from the FIFA Museum” running during the World Cup period.
